This one I will keep short because Christmas is a time for friends and family and we should not forget it and always make time for them and show them you love them - I should try and listen to my own words more. So this Christmas, presents were opened , lots of laughs, we ate a bit too much, then the odd family members drank too much but whose don't? Then there were some losses but that teaches us. So Merry Christmas from our household to yours.

So I had wanted to try this for a while and embrace the inner child in me. So sitter booked . Me and my cousin hopped on the train to Shoreditch, one of my usual haunts for a night out, and headed to Ballie Ballerson on Curtain Road which is also one on the same road as Flat Iron. Walking to hit a flower wall, perfect for those looking take that Instagram picture. To access the ball pit you do have to book, I would advise booking in advance as tickets sell fast for this experience . So we grabbed some of their tropical, sweet cocktails while we waited. Finally after a short wait descended into the ball pit. Now this was hard to describe, it was as if you suddenly forget you're an adult; wading ,jumping, falling into the balls, trying to dance and dodge balls flying at your head and face. The ball pit is a room full of glass mirrors, which we used to get a quick picture . Sadly our time was up so we headed out, danced and grabbed a couple more drinks. I could not leave without trying the electrifying 'Espresso Flames Martini' which I would say is a must when you go there. Then it was off home back to mum life.
A late night for little one . So, as an adult you forget the excitement of days like this, but seeing things through her eyes as mother is fresh and exciting, something that I do not want to end. Lucky for us in my borough, they offer free tickets for local residents - these are limited and so I had to book early.
I do not drive, which living London is not an issue. I am grateful that transport is easy and quick most of the time. So after weeks of her being thrilled about the idea of going, we had a quick change out of her uniform and then we were back out and on the bus there. The fireworks were in a park which had all different food stalls and vendors and a couple of small stages which had performances from fire dancers, which were exhilarating to say the least. Then for the main event itself; lifting her up on my shoulders so that she could watch the fireworks, seeing her face light up was a perfect end to the night. Suddenly in the a blink of an eye, they are growing up. So this was the hardest to write for me, my daughter was finally starting school after all the looking and panicking about picking the right school; which I know sounds silly because she had been at nursery. She was not not nursery 5 days a week so we had more time together even with me working. So when April came around she accepted into the school that me, my older sister, as well our mother and her sisters went to. So wow! Three generations right there. So with the time came we went to a specialist shop to buy the school logo items to which I brought along my sister as an extra pair of hands. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Then getting the last little bits from George @ Asda like the blouses, skirt, pinafores; then the socks & plimsolls from Marks & Spencer. Eventually it came to meeting her teacher and seeing her classroom, then you start feeling nostalgic of your memories of primary school. The school had a parent stay and play day, which I appreciated. During this I realised that there was another mother there who had also attended the school at the same time as me and now our kids are together in the same class. The two days before she started school we tried on all the uniform together and I was in awe. The night before we had early chilled afternoon dinner just the two of us. At last the day had come, after almost 4 and half years we was here and I was overwhelmed. I promised I would keep it together and not cry as to not embarrass her but writing this the tears came remembering it. Yet that moment came when I had to let go and let her walk through the door. After all that worrying, she came back having had best time ever and she was very messy. |
